As the semester winds down, 71 North is buzzing with creative energy and exciting events! This week, we’re celebrating the Artist Way with activities highlighting student talent, innovation, and collaboration.

Thursday & Friday: Join us for the Winter Art Sale, featuring incredible works created by the talented students of the School of Art and Design. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support our student artists and find unique, handcrafted pieces just in time for the holiday season.

Friday:

The Vespa Mode team is back in action, working on bridging the gap between the virtual Vespa interface and the ride platform. It’s a pivotal step forward in connecting immersive virtual experiences with real-world applications.

HealthIER Series at 2 PM, we’re thrilled to welcome Erin Smith from the NIU Foundation for another session of the HealthIER Series. Erin will share her expertise on corporate sponsorship and how it can drive impactful projects and initiatives. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a seasoned professional in the field.

We’re closing out the semester’s activities in style at the Ingenious Bar with the Appy People! Appy Hour starts at 4 PM, where we’ll wind down, share ideas, and celebrate the semester’s successes with Brandon and the team.

Let’s make the most of this creative and inspiring week as we wrap up another amazing semester.

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Vespa Mode - A collaborative project to develop a simulator for riding a vintage Vespa in virtual reality. Vespa Mode is part of the Huskieverse program.

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: HealthIER - Learn about Corporate and Foundation Funding Opportunities for health innovation research with Erin Smith of the NIU Corporate Foundation Relationship team.

4:30 PM: Appy Hour with Brandon Goff and the Appy People - Join the creative minds behind the Appy Hour podcast as they work on the next episode.

Saturday:

9:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Breakthrough Community Business Academy - The Breakthrough CBA covers all the essential topics about running a business. This week is the wrap-up of the pitch session.

Monday:

3:30 PM to 6:30 PM: PHHE 335 - The Public Health Communication final session featuring students presentations.
