Welcome to the week of welcome, everyone! While classes won’t officially start until next week, the campus is already buzzing with activity as faculty and students gear up for a successful semester. Here at 71 North, we’re thrilled to see our champions returning to the studio, bringing fresh energy and ideas to our vibrant space.

Planning and Innovation
Tech Tacos: the planning stages of our beloved Tech Tacos sessions. Stay tuned for more details on how we’ll be combining tech learning with a tasty twist this semester!
StartupStandup Exploration: brainstorm what StartupStandup might look like this semester. It’s an exciting opportunity to engage with outside-the-box thinking and team building.
Innovation Across the Curriculum: Team up with our partners to infuse innovation into every aspect of the curriculum, ensuring that creativity and forward-thinking are the cornerstones of our learning journey.
Appy Hour with Brandon
We’re also making time for the new Appy Hour with Brandon, where we’ll dive into all things apps and digital media. It’s a great way to connect, learn, and have fun.

Sport Management Innovation Lab
Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM: Don’t miss the Sport Management Innovation Lab, a collaboration with KNPE featuring Prof. Ishaq and Prof. Chung and their students. This lab is a hub of ideas where sports management and innovation collide.
Wednesday VR Exploration
Wednesday, 12-1 PM outside the Garage Area: Explore the virtual reality world and discover the many opportunities 71 North offers. A chance to get hands-on with VR and see how it can enhance learning and creativity.
Thursday Outreach
Lowden Lawn: On Thursday, some of us will be out on Lowden Lawn, spreading the word about 71 North and all the incredible opportunities we have in store. Come say hi and learn more about how you can get involved!
Welcoming Asian American Engineering Students
Thursday: We’re excited to partner with the Asian American Resource Center, directed by Michelle Bringas, to welcome Asian American engineering students. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build connections and support diversity within our engineering community.
Friday Strategy Session
Strategizing for the Future: As the week wraps up, Karinne and Federico refine 71 North direction and strategies, with plans to share the vision with members and stakeholders in the upcoming weeks.
There are a lot of exciting developments on the horizon, and we are eager to share them with you!
